The companies behind the president's son's inner circle

LatinUS investigations team traced a network of companies owned and run by friends of Andrés "Andy" López Beltrán, the president's son and one of the most influential figures in his administration. Corporate records showed the firms shared partners, administrators and, in some cases, the same registered address — letting them bid against one another for public work and disappear into subcontracting chains. The network won business tied to the cancellation of the Texcoco airport and its replacement by the Lago de Texcoco Ecological Park, and at least five contracts from Mexico's urban development ministry, including the new National Agrarian Archive building.
